Vermont Home Energy Challenge

gogreenlightbulb 2013 looks like it will be a year full of exciting energy initiatives as the Vermont Home Energy Challenge, a yearlong effort to increase the number of homes completing weatherization/energy efficiency improvements, sponsored by Efficiency Vermont and the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network (VECAN), gets underway. The goals Efficiency Vermont/VECAN have set are ambitious—they aim to complete weatherization projects on 3{5c7c117355094fac0d774798b6c05eb9b984bcd12bdd47ca30cb6ea7b3d109b4} of all homes in Vermont within the calendar year. The Montpelier Energy Advisory Committee (MEAC), however, believes we can exceed this goal and we are aiming to get 200 homes in Montpelier weatherized this year. Awards will be given to towns that have the largest percentage of jobs completed, and we want Montpelier to be #1!

To jumpstart the Energy Challenge, MEAC has planned an Energy Fair on the evening of Monday, March 4th. The fair will be a fun, festive event and serve as a one-stop source for all energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and financing resources available in Central Vermont. More information will be forthcoming, stay tuned.
